June 7, 2019 - CAEF is coming off a week of highly successful events featuring Dr. Mordechai Kedar, of the Department of Arabic at Bar-Ilan University. Professor Kedar served in IDF Military Intelligence for 25 years, specializing in Arab political discourse, Arab mass media, Islamic groups and the Syrian domestic arena.
In Toronto, he spoke at synagogues, gave a presentation at one of our famous business lunch lectures, engaged with young high school students in the city and led a training session for some of our members. All of the events were not only informative, but highly entertaining due to Dr. Kedar’s mix of humor and knowledge.
Probably the most important development to emerge from these events is the new sense of cooperation we are helping to foster within the Jewish community. For too long many great organizations have been working alone, isolated within their own projects. Sharing Dr. Kedar’s visit has helped us to build bridges between our activities. We therefore want to give thanks to Hasbara Fellowships and Jews for Judaism for helping us to bring Dr. Kedar to our city for these excellent events.
We regret that some of you were unable to get tickets to our sold-out business lunch lecture. However, we are pleased to provide a link to the full luncheon presentation. We highly recommend listening to the lecture since it provides an alternative look at Middle Eastern life and politics. For one thing, Dr. Kedar lays out his idea for the “Palestinian Emirates” based on his knowledge of the prevalence of tribalism throughout the region.
Within the first 5 minutes of Dr. Kedar’s presentation he destroys every aspect of the narrative of the “occupied Palestinian people”.
After this highly successful series of events featuring Dr. Kedar, CAEF looks forward to bringing in many more great speakers to address the issues you care about.
