A Jewish and Chinese Initiative Offers Free Educational Display for May Heritage Months

As May approaches—celebrating both Jewish Heritage Month and Asian Heritage Month—a multi-organizational initiative is making a free educational display available to schools, libraries, and community organizations across Canada.

Led by the Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation, the project features “Celebrating Contributions to Humanity,” a professionally designed exhibit highlighting the achievements of individuals of Jewish and Chinese descent. Partners in the initiative include Allied Voices for Israel, Toronto Asian Parents Association, the Jewish Therapist Collective, and Doctors Against Racism and Antisemitism.

The display showcases contributions across science, innovation, culture, and public life, offering institutions a ready-made way to mark Heritage Month programming.

“Sometimes the most effective way to build respect is simply to show what people have contributed,” said Annette Poizner, developer of the exhibit and author of the book, Weaving the Way, Jewish and Chinese Teachings for a Fractured World. “This display lets the facts speak for themselves.”

The materials are designed for easy download and installation, allowing institutions to implement the display independently with minimal resources.

In addition, a series of webinars will take place throughout May featuring speakers who explore themes related to culture, identity, and community. These sessions are open to the public and complement the educational goals of the display.
