Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As we emerge from Passover and turn toward the month of May, we have a timely opportunity. In both Canada and the United States, May marks Asian Heritage Monthand Jewish Heritage Month—a convergence that invites thoughtful connection.

The Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation (CAEF) is pleased to foster dialogue and alliance between the Jewish and Chinese communities. At a time when both antisemitism and anti-Asian hate persist, we believe there is real value in identifying shared values, building mutual understanding, and working collaboratively toward common goals.

This is a multifaceted project, and we invite you to participate in a number of ways:

THE DISPLAY

We have developed a curated display highlighting the civic contributions of Chinese and Jewish individuals. Designed for schools and libraries, this initiative promotes goodwill, education, and cultural appreciation.

We invite you to help bring this display into your local community. A distribution kit is available to guide outreach efforts, along with access to the display panels for submission and review.

FREE BOOK DOWNLOAD

We are also pleased to announce the release of a book exploring points of convergence between Chinese and Jewish cultures. This work reflects shared values, historical parallels, and the potential for meaningful alliance.

The book is available as a free download today and tomorrow.

To download, simply “purchase” the book during this promotional period, when it will be listed at a cost of $0.00.

We welcome your feedback about the book, which can be sent to research@caef.ca. Your reflections and insights will help shape this work as a living document that reflects a composite of voices from both communities. If you wish to submit comments for possible publication, please indicate whether you prefer anonymity. If you find the book valuable, we would also appreciate a review on Amazon, as this helps extend its reach.

PRESENTATIONS

Throughout May, we will host a series of presentations in recognition of Asian Heritage Month and Jewish Heritage Month. Further details will be shared soon.

RESOURCES

Our project webpage highlights a growing collection of resources, organizations, and individuals working at the intersection of these two communities. There is much to discover, and we look forward to sharing this evolving body of work with you.

This project has been stewarded by Annette Poizner, MSW, Ed.D., CAEF Director of Research.

We are also pleased to welcome our new social work intern, Christine Arlene N. Arrozal, a graduate student at Yeshiva University, who is supporting the development and outreach of this project.

We invite you to take part, whether by sharing the display, engaging with the book, attending presentations, or helping to spread the word. your participation may contribute to the meaningful alliance we are working towards.

With appreciation and anticipation,

Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation (CAEF)
