Dear Ambassador Moed;

The Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation has shared documentary footage with readers/subscribers, the elected members of parliament in Canada, as well as with the Canadian media, showing that UNRWA’s education of Palestinian Arab children includes calls for terrorism against Israelis.

There is little doubt that the education system operated by UNRWA is contributing to the ongoing hostilities experienced by Israel from Arabs in Gaza as well as from those in Judea and Samaria. We note that murders have also been carried out by students and even a teacher from a “refugee” camp in Jerusalem, where both teacher and student were in an UNRWA operated school.

UNRWA uses texts and teachers’ manuals from the Palestinian Authority in all of its schools, whether in Gaza, Judea and Samaria, Lebanon or in Jerusalem. The materials cultivate a culture of violence and Jew hatred and educate Arab children to seek martyrdom by terrorism.

At a time when the government of Israel struggles with policy options on the day after the current war in Gaza, we call upon the Government of Israel to demand that UNRWA and PA schools cease and desist from incitement and indoctrination to violence.

Please convey our position to the Government in Israel as we pray for the safety and well-being of all Israelis and the return of all hostages.

Regards,

Andria Spindel

Thank you for your letter

lsrael is currently fighting the Hamas terrorist organization and its allies in Gaza. ln this context, the IDF forces encounter daily examples of UNRWA related evidence of acts of terrorism, such as ammunitions hidden in or under UNRWA schools, and in one case an lsraeli hostage was even held by an UNRWA teacher.

All that to say that UNRWA's negative role goes much further than allowing for antisemitic content to be taught at its schools. lsrael's position on these matters has been voices on numerous occasions. For further information please see https://www.gov.il/en/departments/news/unrwa201223.

As the Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation, I would hope that you bring up your concerns with the relevant Canadian authorities as well.

Sincerely,

H.E. lddo Moed

Ambassador of lsrael to Canada
