CAEF Press Release in response to Prime Minister’s statement recognizing the non-existent state of Palestine

Recognizing a Palestinian State Today is Immoral

Toronto, Canada – September 21, 2025

CAEF condemns the decision of the Canadian government to, independent of any legal, historical, or moral grounds, recognize a State of Palestine, to be carved out of Israel, not negotiated with a legitimate governing body truly representative of the Palestinian Arabs.

Most importantly in drawing attention to this immoral decision, CAEF points out the incredulity of rewarding terrorists for massacring civilians, rewarding the Palestinian Authority (PA) for its immoral and troubling pay for slay program, which provides a lifetime salary to terrorists or their surviving family. The Palestinian Authority is a tyrannical entity, no less murderous than Hamas, a designated terrorist entity by Canada.  The PA, celebrated October 7, does not recognize Israel as proven by their textbooks which teach children that Israel does not exist, that Jews are evil, that their goal should be to grow up and kill a Jew, be a martyr, and sacrifice their young lives to a supremacist hate ideology.

Canada used to stand for something of value--for justice, equality, good government, peace and order. This government has undermined these values substantially, as demonstrated by this outrageous action.  Canada is denigrating Israel, a democracy surrounded by Islamist enemies, fighting an existential war of survival. In the midst of a conflict initiated by Hamas, Israel is feeding the Gazan population, at great risk to the lives of its soldiers, and the volunteers of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) which has done better at distributing food than the UN which refuses to cooperate.

The Government of Canada has succumbed to lies, bigotry and a minority voting bloc. This is disgusting behaviour on the part of the legislators who should be moral leaders in our country. And what will it achieve? At what cost? This clearly signals to the Jewish community of Canada that after 250 years of significant contributions, overcoming antisemitism pre and post WWII, our worth as Canadians is devalued. It is self-evident that such action increases antisemitism in the wider community, rewards the bad behaviour of the anti-Israel protesters, and threatens harmony and even the sanctity of life in Canada.
