Dear Editor,
The ignorance in this column is breathtaking. Michelle Shepherd stated that foreign Journalists are not allowed in Gaza and were it not for courageous Palestinian journalists, we would never know the truth.
Foreign journalists most of whom don't speak the language are allowed in Gaza but must be accompanied by Palestinian minders (journalists) who are instructed by Hamas where to take them and what facts to present. Palestinian journalists have been warned that is it's not good for their health to deviate from the Hamas narrative, i.e. Palestinians are innocent victims suffering from Israeli oppression, and even if Hamas attacked Israel and gang raped its woman, the Jews deserved it, or for this is too unpalatable, the Hamas invasion never happened.
Almost every fact presented by Shepherd is distorted which can only have one result, an explosion of Jew hatred in Canada for no reason other than Jew haters are in charge of the narrative.
Clearly the Toronto Star has no shame participating in the Palestinian victimhood project. I rather think that from its constant anti-Israel content, the Star must be channelling the poisonous 'none is too many' ideology adopted by Canada's WWII government that refused sanctuary to fleeing Jews, ironically, sanctuary that present day Canada has offered people form countries at war with the Jewish state, many who bring their hatred of Jews here.
