As millions of Arabs live under autocratic and inhumane rule, without basic freedoms that we cherish in the West, such as freedom of religion, freedom of expression and equal rights, who is to blame?

CAEF launched a new web series -- They are Lying About Jews Again!

WITH Israeli media and security experts, Amotz Eyal and Baruch Yedid

Congratulations to the following cities that have adopted the IHRA working definition of antisemitism, setting the standard for Canadian municipalities, fighting Jew-hatred in all its forms.

This is great news for 5781. Now let’s get the others on board.

Lies and More lies

As noted in our last CAEF Bulletin, lies told often enough are taken as truths, and it seems lies travel faster than truths. The Palestinian Arab lies have captivated generations of Western liberals and human rights activists, but the air has run out on the PA/Hamas fabrications balloon. The Begin-Sedat Center for Strategic Studies, published a paper this week, which highlights what has been the power of oft-repeated lies by the Palestinian Authority and their fellow-antiZionists, and the new reality—their lies no longer hold sway or have a veto on the decisions by other Arab nations.

The Palestinians Have Been Lying For Years. Can They Still Get Away With It?

BESA Center Perspectives Paper, September 24, 2020

By Prof. Hillel Frisch

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Palestinians have been lying in all directions for far too long. A gullible liberal public might buy into their lies for a while, but not forever. The UAE and Bahrain are no longer swallowing Palestinian lies, and other Arab states might join them.

The Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels unfortunately proved to the world that it is possible to lie in several contradictory directions at once: for example, you can claim that Jews are both innately capitalist and innately communist, two conflicting vilifications that facilitated the Holocaust. Of course, some Jews were capitalists and some were communists, but this was also true of almost everyone else.

MORE LIES AT THE UNITED NATIONS

Executive Director of UN Watch, Hillel Neuer, on September 16th, 2020 responded to the speech by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, who knowingly ignored the Abraham Accords, the changing status of Israel in the eyes of the Muslim world and facts on the ground and in law. Bachelet, once again, aimed unjust claims and fallacious criticism against Israel.

Here are Michelle Bachelet’s remarks: “In the Occupied Palestinian Territory, the escalating tragedy in Gaza is of particular concern. The blockade by sea and land, which Israel has imposed for 13 years, has brought Gaza’s main economic and commercial activities to a complete halt. The blockade, which contravenes international law, has conclusively failed to deliver security or peace for Israelis and Palestinians.”

Hillel Neuer’s remarks included the following: “Today is a historic day. In the 20th century, a total of two peace accords were achieved between Israel and Arab states — Egypt in 1979, and Jordan in 1994.”

“The peace agreements have been welcomed by countries around the globe, including Egypt, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, which itself just announced that it will allow overflight rights to planes flying to and from Israel.”

“If the United Nations and this Human Rights Council truly care about human rights and peace, why did the United Nations Human Rights Chief just speak here, making numerous references to the Middle East, yet without mentioning once this historic moment of peace and hope?”

“Why does this council’s expert on the Palestinian territories examine only Israel’s actions, while turning a blind eye to the abuses of Hamas and Islamic Jihad?”

At the UN, Canadian legal expert, Hillel Neuer is the voice of truth and reason.

CAEF COMMENDS THE UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO FACULTY OF LAW FOR RECINDING HIRE OFFER TO ANTIZIONIST ACADEMIC—IHRA MUST BE ADOPTED AT ALL UNIVERSITIES TO FIGHT ANTISEMITIC LIES

We have been watching an event unfold in Toronto that is becoming a typical university travesty: recruitment of antisemites to key posts and increased antisemitism/antiZionism on campus. Recently there has been controversy at the University of Toronto Law Faculty regarding the position of Director of International Human Rights Program (IHRP) and Dr. Valentina Azarova, an avowed antiZionist whose work showers venom and lies about Israel. That Dr. Azarova would be the top candidate is very disturbing. Due to some suggested intervention, the Dean did not follow through with an offer. We believe that all people of good conscience should be concerned about university based antisemitism fueled by some academics. It is time to be loud and proud and stand up for Israel, against antiZionism, and against Jew-hatred.

We are issuing a statement to support the University’s decision, and encourage U of T to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance working definition of antisemitism. The intent of the pro-Palestinian Statement of Palestine Speech Suppression and its petition seems to be to have the university rescind its decision and offer the appointment to Dr. Azarova. We are concerned that the Dean or others might come under fire for negating a committee decision, if such an offer has indeed been rescinded. We, therefore, urge acceptance of IHRA and its application to all hiring decisions and other policies and practices to ensure a safe environment for pro-Israel students and faculty, not to counter free speech but to eliminate the 3Ds of antisemitism-- Demonization, Double Standards, and Delegitimization of Israel, the Jewish State.
