A New Year and a New Solution

L’chaim! To your Health and Happiness!

It seems the time has arrived to stop pushing a defunct, dysfunctional, dated solution to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Arabs who live in Judea, Samaria, and the eastern part of Jerusalem – Arabs who once were citizens of Jordan, only to be disenfranchised by King Hussein in 1983, so as to become a political football to be used against Israel.

Everyone who can read a map can see that Israel is but a sliver of land, and no more than 15 km (9.3 miles) wide at its center.  No one who cares should expect it can survive as a country, let alone as a Jewish state, if it surrenders the center of the country to an enemy within – an enemy that will follow the popular Arab template and create another hostile, antisemitic, misogynistic, and homophobic country ruled by Islamist dictators.

It is time for a new look at an old problem.  There are indeed other possible approaches.  Here is one such approach from Moshe Phillips, the National Director of Herut USA.  I think you’ll find it interesting. A new solution.
