HAPPY 4TH of JULY to our AMERICAN FRIENDS, FAMILY AND COLLEAGUES!

Who Remembers Air India Flight 182 and Why it Matters?
Canadians, especially young adults and students, are largely unaware that one of the worst aviation terrorist attacks in the world occurred on a flight from Canada to the UK, and that this was the worst terrorist attack in Canadian history. June 22 marked the 40th anniversary of the tragedy that killed 329 people, of which 268 were Canadians. The Canadian government and all its agencies failed the family members who were left behind. No one survived the bombing of the plane, and to this day, the Indian community is demanding justice.
This story and what unfolded is important for all Canadians, not just those of Indian background, because it illustrates the lack of support offered to people suffering the disaster, and the incompetence of security services in first preventing this and secondly holding the perpetrators accountable. All Canadians should know that extremism, such as the Khalistanti movement can lead to terrorism, and neither Indian nor Jewish Canadians should feel alone in attempting to thwart extremism which threatens their daily lives.
On June 29th the Canada India Foundation and Tafsik, held the first major joint Indian-Jewish event, United Against Extremism, a National Security Conference. Before reading about the conference, read this article by Terry Glavin, in the National Post on Canada’s worst failure.
The day-long conference, attended by about 200 people, was co-sponsored by CAEF, CoHNA, Canadian Progressive Muslims, Resurge Society, pie4all, Canadian National Council of Hindus, Hindu Forum Canada, and ICARE. Featured speakers included: Tahir Gora, journalist and broadcaster; Joe Adam George, researcher and policy analyst specializing in Islamist terrorism; Jasmin Laine, fearless podcaster, Josh Udall, political podcaster, Clyde Nichols, Youtube host of Do Something, Kushal Mehra, author and podcaster, Salman Sima, former Iranian political prisoner, Sanjay Lazer, author and lawyer, Dr. Meera Nair, researcher and writer following up on Air India flight 182; Daniel Bordman, journalist, activist, Wyatt Claypool, policy and communications specialist.
Most notable were opening remarks from Sanjay Makka, National Co-convenor of Canada India Foundation and the blistering honest remarks from lawyer and former BC Premier, Ujjal Dosanjh. Both called for justice, for the revelation of truth in regards to the Air India tragedy, both called for educating Canadians about this piece of our history, of dedicating resources to bring justice to surviving family members, and to recognizing the racism which prevailed at the time and maybe since, allowing governments and intelligence agencies to treat the deaths of SE Asians as less worthy of attention than might have been given to others.
What was powerfully expressed, despite calling out the failings, was that all speakers and the audience, view Canada as a country of tolerance, inclusivity, opportunity and security. This, however, has been eroded by institutional wokeism, by stealth jihad, identity politics, fear of offending minority groups or faiths, blaming the victim, and insidious infiltration into all aspects of society by those with Islamist perspectives, often in alliance with other extremists. Their goal is to breakdown civil society, destroy our democracy, make history irrelevant, undermine confidence and belief in Canadian values.
Canadians must not tolerate extremism, which is regularly on display in support of Hamas and other terrorist entities under the guise of “pro-Palestinian” protests. These demonstrations have zero to do with Palestinian Arabs, with Gaza, with peace and decency. They are purely to arouse hatred towards Israel and Jews globally. The rhetoric since October 8, 2023 has clearly mimicked that of the Nazis, spreading bigoted images and phrases, and platitudes about resistance that are really about terrorism, while reframing the evil perpetrated against Israelis and foreign nationals in Israel as the work of Israel. It was pointed out at the conference that coordination of such messaging was in place and released on October 7th, almost before the world could properly respond to the massacre conducted by Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Gazan civilians.

Watch former BC Premier Ujjal Dosanjh who provided opening remarks, calling on Canadians to stake security seriously, to have the courage to speak out against extremism and to support Canadian values. The posting is by Rebel News.
Watch Conservative MP, Shuvaloy Majumdar who gave a closing speech, summing up issues of the day on indoctrination, and three massive disruptions—multipolarity of tyrannies, populism on the left and right that gives rise to mob rule, and technology that is being abused. The posting is by Rebel News.
MLI Conference on National Security Priorities
The MacDonald Laurier Institute held a half day conference with experts from a number of fields, outlining security issues, sources of terrorism, strategies, and recommendations for government. Attended by approximately 70-80 people the focus gave prominence to 2 major topics: Antisemitism, Extremism and Terrorism in Canada and Border Security, Immigration and National Security.
Speakers for the first panel included Sheryl Saperia, Bruce Pardy, Dan Pujdak, and Kaveh Shahrooz, and the second panel included Sophie Milman, Peter Copland, Calvin Christie, and Andrew Kirsch. All speakers concluded that the federal government has done too little in addressing threats, bolstering national security, monitoring borders, vetting immigrants, creating transparency, eliminating designated terrorist entities, holding accountable those perpetrating extremist behaviour on the streets, or on campuses.
Several organizations, like Secure Canada, which was a sponsor, are addressing gaps in legislation and regulations. Clearly, Canada must introduce mandatory reporting of foreign funding on campuses, link terror designations to the removal of non profit and charitable status of such entities, take vetting of asylum seekers and other immigrants more seriously. It was pointed out that while Islamist and Leftist ideologies have nothing in common, standing for opposing ideologies, their recruitment messages both emphasize Jew hatred, hence their alliance. Thus, organizations like CAEF must advocate for greater attention to the connection between extremism and antisemitism, and demand the application of existing tools to thwart these ideologies.

Canadian Government Promotes Race Theory that Harms Jews
Critical race theory is simplistic in the extreme and leads to extremist views that are not only counter productive in understanding current affairs but are ignorant, harmful, fallacious, unproven, discriminatory, anti-White, antisemitic.
This excerpt explains the government’s view of DEI as
"….a tool adapted by diversity, equity and inclusion networks at IRCC that can be used to identify intersectional locations of power. Identifying the forms power takes allows us to design systems in different ways to correct power imbalance or to level the proverbial playing field."

The Fate of Jews in Iran—The Islamic Regime Blames the Jews

CAEF draws attention to the situation facing Iranian Jews in Iran since the 12 day attack by Israel and the US which knocked out or significantly set back the nuclear ambition of the terror regime. Read an excerpt from the Jerusalem Post, “According to Iran International, security forces recently raided the homes of Jewish families in Tehran, Shiraz, and Isfahan. During these operations, authorities confiscated mobile phones, computers, and other personal belongings. Individuals with any digital ties to relatives in Israel were reportedly detained for questioning, with some held for extended periods. In several cases, past travel to Israel was cited as grounds for arrest — a serious allegation under Iranian law.
The number of detainees remains unclear, though the names of dozens have been published. Jewish community sources describe an atmosphere of fear, with reports of entire families being taken into custody.”
Other reports about Iran from Israeli and other sources, suggest that the regime has rounded up and imprisoned and executed hundreds of people it suspects were spies for Israel or complicit in the attacks. Obviously, Jews with any connection to family or friends in Israel were top of mind when the regime started its witch hunt. Pray for the Jews in Iran and the Iranian people seeking to free themselves from tyranny.

Launch of Social Work and Antisemitism, Issues and Interventions
Over 100 health care practitioners zoomed on June 25th with authors Dana Marlowe and Carole Cox at the launch of their new textbook, available now from Amazon.

CAEF recommends that students and faculty urge departments of Social Work to acquire this text and utilize it fully as current curriculum omits antisemitism while studying all other forms of hatred and oppression.

How Leftist Jews Harm the Jewish Community and Israel
Jeff Ballabon writes in jns.org about how American Jewish democrats harm the Jews. One ought consider this no doubt applies equally in Canada.
Read excerpt: “Today, many still insist that staying in the Democratic Party—whether to influence primaries or secure resources—is a mark of strategic savvy and pragmatism. But if the outcomes of that “strategy” are coordinated assaults on Jewish education and the rise to political power of Hamas sympathizers, then we need to acknowledge it is neither savvy nor pragmatic—it’s a toxic fusion of shortsightedness and self-interest. “
Read article by Don Feder, in a speech for The Heritage Foundation, April 1993 in which he addresses Jewish liberalism and its failings; its unsupportive policies in regard to the Jews, its antisemitic history.
Read this excerpt: “Indeed, American Jews are fervent proselytizers for every "ism"-feminism, environmentalism, pacifism, redistributionism-vs Judaism. It's not just that Jews can't distinguish their political friends from their enemies, or that Jews consistently promote non-Jewish values. Far worse, this reflex liberalism compels them to take positions adverse to their best interests. “
Who Are These Incredible People, the Jews?
An interesting article by Alister Heath, a British journalist for the Daily Telegraph, was sent to CAEF by a supporter. This is an incredibly uplifting piece about Jewish resilience and the “Miracle” at work that saves the Jews.
“There’s something about Israel that makes people uncomfortable, and it’s not what they say it is.
They’ll point to politics, settlements, borders, and wars. But scratch beneath the outrage, and you’ll find something deeper. A discomfort not with what Israel does, but with what Israel is.
A nation this small should not be this strong. Period. Israel has no oil. No special natural resources. A population barely the size of a mid-sized American city. They are surrounded by enemies. Hated in the United Nations. Targeted by terror. Condemned by celebrities. Boycotted, slandered, and attacked. And still, they thrive like there’s no tomorrow.
In military. In medicine. In security. In technology. In agriculture. In intelligence. In morality. In sheer, unbreakable will.
They turn desert into farmland.
They make water from air.
They intercept rockets in mid-air.
They rescue hostages under the nose of the world’s worst regimes.
They survive wars that were supposed to wipe them out, and win.
The world watches this and can’t make sense of it.
So they do what people do when they witness strength they can’t understand.
They assume it must be cheating.
It must be American aid.
It must be foreign lobbying.
It must be oppression.
It must be theft.
It must be some dark trick that gave the Jews this kind of power.
It must be blackmail.
Because heaven forbid it’s something else.
Heaven forbid it’s real.
Heaven forbid it’s earned.
Or worse, destined.
The Jewish people were supposed to disappear a long, long time ago. That’s how the story of exiled, enslaved, hated minorities is supposed to end. But the Jews didn’t disappear. They actually came home, rebuilt their land, revived their language, and brought their dead back to life — in memory, in identity, and in strength.
That’s not normal.
It’s not political.
It’s biblical.
There’s no cheat code that explains how a group of people return to their homeland after 2,000 years.
There is no rational path from gas chambers to global influence.
And there is no historical precedent for surviving the Babylonians, the Romans, the Crusaders, the Inquisition, the pogroms, and the Holocaust, and still showing up to work on Monday in Tel Aviv.
Israel doesn’t make sense. Unless you believe in something beyond the math.
This is what drives the world crazy. Because if Israel is real, if this improbable, ancient, hated nation is somehow still chosen, protected, and thriving, then maybe God isn’t a myth after all.
Maybe He’s still in the story.
Maybe history isn’t random.
Maybe evil doesn’t get the last word.
Maybe the Jews are not just a people… but a testimony.
That’s what they can’t stand.
Because once you admit that Israel’s survival isn’t just impressive, but divine, everything changes. Your moral compass has to reset. Your assumptions about history, power, and justice collapse. You realize you’re not watching the end of an empire. You’re witnessing the beginning of something eternal.
So they deny it.
They smear it.
And rage against it.
Because it’s easier to call a miracle ‘cheating’”
