Yonatan Nir is an award-winning Israeli documentary filmmaker, photographer, and lecturer.  His films have been screened worldwide at international festivals, museums, and the United Nations.

Among his films are Dolphin Boy, My Hero Brother, Picture of His Life, and The Essential Link. Yonatan’s work explores human resilience, trauma, and post-traumatic growth, and the deep connection between people, memory, and nature. He has also given a TED Talk on DocuTherapy, a pioneering approach that uses documentary filmmaking as a tool for healing and growth.

Today, Yonatan hosts and leads DocuNation, an online documentary screening initiative in Israel and internationally. DocuNation offers time-limited online screenings of carefully selected documentary films, followed by live conversations with filmmakers and creators.
