Letter: A Message for Ambassador Andriy Shevchenko

Dear Ambassador Shevchenko;

I have the pleasure of acknowledging your government’s support for Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, a country with a strong civil and human rights history. Given your own incredible human rights activist background, we know you will appreciate Israel’s staunch commitment to human rights and  humanitarianism at home and across the globe. This is in contrast to many of its neighbors who wish to see its destruction, and to the position of the Palestinian Authority which does not represent any country and unjustly spreads disinformation and antisemitic lies on a daily basis.

We wish to add our praise and appreciation to that of the Israeli government in respect of the Ukraine government’s recent decision at the UN to pull out of the biased and anachronistic Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People.  Please convey our thanks to the Permanent Representative and Head of Mission for Ukraine at the UN, Mr. Volodymyr Yelchenko, and to the President, Mr.Volodymyr Zelensky.

Of course we also want to extend deepest sympathies today on learning of the terrible loss of life in Tehran due to the crash of a passenger plane of Ukraine International Airlines.

Regards,

Andria Spindel, Executive Director
