Letter from Canadian Students & Alumni Combating Antisemitism to the Montreal General Hospital Foundation Asking That No Award Be Granted to David Juncker Over His Documented History of Antisemitism

Good evening.

We are writing to your organization pursuant to your announcement that Mr. David Juncker, co-founder of Ubiqui DX, will be a recipient of the Montreal General Hospital Foundation’s Impact Investment program: https://www.mghfoundation.com/news/demo-day-2026.

As you will see from the attached record and below summary, Mr. Juncker is a committed antisemite, Jew-hater, and anti-Zionist. His highly public rhetoric on the X platform (https://x.com/DavidJuncker) directed towards Jews, Jewish institutions, and Israelis borders on the obsessive; indeed, we have documented thousands of highly inflammatory, defamatory and antisemitic posts and reposts from his account over the past 2 years.

We wish to clarify at the outset that we are not a Zionist organization, indeed we take no particular view on the complex Israel-Palestine conflict. Rather, we are a diverse group of Jewish, Christian and Muslim individuals, from both Israeli, Canadian, and Palestinian backgrounds, working together to identify and highlight antisemitic instances and individuals in the Canadian industrial and academic public spheres. We note that our Palestinian members were particularly disgusted with Mr. Juncker’s public conduct online, which was felt to have no productive qualities and offers no solutions to this protracted international conflict; rather his words clearly seek to inflame tensions and invokes age-old tropes to foment violence against Jews and Israelis. We have chosen this communication format as we have no interest in Mr. Juncker threatening or doxxing us online as he has done with other individuals who do not share his extreme views.

The attached record shows the repeated use of Mr. Juncker’s public X account, on which he identifies himself as a scientist and member of the McGill community, to distribute statements that move beyond criticism of a state or ideology and instead address Jews collectively, Jewish Canadians, synagogues, Jewish institutions and perceived Zionists in language that questions their entitlement to safety, rationalizes attacks (including potentially violent or lethal attacks) on Jewish targets including synagogues, alleges coordinated Jewish false-flag operations, and invokes Jewish control-of-media and Jewish control-of-government theories, and uses dehumanizing language towards Jews, Israelis, and Zionists, which are protected categories under Quebec law.

On multiple occasions, Mr. Juncker advertises, and encourages, the doxxing, tracking, and identification of Israelis and IDF soldiers or veterans as ‘war criminals’ and ‘genociders’ without providing evidence for this inflammatory and defamatory claim, which has not yet been proven in an international court of law. Mr. Juncker also posted or reposted content implying or including assertions that media and politicians want Canadians to believe “Canadian Jews are the real victims,” dismissing “purported Jewish victimhood,” and repeatedly calling a Jewish advocate an “unhinged Jewish supremacist” and a “fascist, Jewish supremacist” and claiming that “not even the Nazis” acted comparably and that Genghis Khan treated captured medical personnel with greater respect.

Mr. Juncker also repeatedly posts or reposts content from highly antisemitic sources, including Susan Abulhawa, who has called Jews and Israelis ‘cockroaches’, ‘demons’, and ‘parasites’, and Yves Engler, who has repeatedly harassed, threatened, and assaulted Jewish individuals in public, and is currently under investigation by the SPVM for incitement against the police. Mr. Juncker’s posts or reposts repeatedly engage in Holocaust trivialization or minimalism, defamatory and unsubstantiated ‘blood libels’ against Israelis, Holocaust inversion, and highly concerning and threatening claims that that Jews who actively support Israel’s conduct “must not be able to ‘exist in their communities in total peace and security’,” that synagogues engaged in fundraising “must be stopped,” and that such Jews and synagogues “don’t deserve ‘total peace and security’ any more than Nazis did.”

Further, despite significant evidence to the contrary, Mr. Juncker has repeatedly posted and reposted false and misleading information after synagogue shootings, vandalism, and assaults on Jews in Canada and Montreal. In one instance, Mr. Juncker alleges that “2 Jewish thugs” may have shot at a Jewish school and suggests that attacks on Jewish institutions conveniently occur whenever Israel faces Canadian scrutiny, and, in another instance, alleges that “the Toronto Jewish community is coordinating with Israel to stage false flags” to support legislation, “elicit sympathy for Jews” and restrict Canadian civil liberties. That is a direct Jewish false-flag conspiracy allegation, for which there is no evidence, and Mr. Juncker presents none.

While we recognize that Mr. Juncker is a Professor and Chair at McGill University, and thus is entitled to some degree of academic freedom of speech, we note that 1) this area has nothing to do with his academic research and 2) his conductis likely already in breach of the McGill Policy on Harassment and Discrimination, and the McGill Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Code of Conduct, which expressly applies to web and social-media communications and to people holding Faculty appointments. Section II.2.1 requires respect in Faculty-related interactions and prohibits discrimination based on race, ancestry, place of origin, political belief and religion. Section II.2.3 says that written, verbal and visual communications, including websites and social media, must be respectful and meet the professionalism expected face to face. Section II.4.10 requires responsible social-media use and says Faculty members must not post information that is untruthful, hurtful or disrespectful. Section III.1.1(b) says professional standards apply at all times and particularly where a member represents the University or its interests, expressly including social media.

Additionally, we have received information from a number of Jewish, Israeli, and Zionist students and faculty at McGill and at the CLIP, your in-house incubator, that Mr. Juncker has behaved in an intimidatory fashion towards them, including by engaging in repeated discriminatory and aggressive conduct, promoting BDS, and making antisemitic and hateful comments towards them in person, including at CLIP events. This has left Jewish, Israeli, and Zionist students and faculty at McGill and at the CLIP highly distraught and concerned for their safety around Mr. Juncker.

Further, the Montreal General Hospital Foundation is separate from McGill University and as a private body, does not owe Mr. Juncker the same level of laxity when it comes to discriminatory and racist conduct online or in-person. Rather, we are aware that as part of the Montreal General Hospital Foundation’s due-diligence process, you will conduct a risk-screening assessment on the business and its founders. We therefore provide this information to include as part of your risk-screening process, because Mr. Juncker’s conduct was public and therefore, should your organization choose to invest in his company, thus linking your foundation with him, this information is likely to become public knowledge anyways and could reflect very poorly indeed on the Foundation.

And, while we do not wish to interfere in any way with your risk-screening process, we are also duty-bound to inform your organization of the following.

First, Mr. Juncker’s conduct, which was detailed above, is sufficiently severe that our organization is currently in the process of collecting testimonies and preparing potential legal action against him and any linked entities.

Second, we are currently in the process of working with our partners to map your organization’s donor network. Should you choose to invest in Mr. Juncker’s startup, as his aforementioned conduct was public, we will take steps to notify your donor network that you have invested in a startup led by a founder who is an antisemite and a Jew-hater.

Third, the attached materials raise a serious cross-border compliance and investment concern. US Congress has expressly opposed politically motivated measures intended to penalize or limit commercial relations with Israel and has made discouraging such measures a United States trade-policy objective. See 19 U.S.C. § 4452(b)–(d). Several states also restrict public contracting or public-fund investment involving entities that engage in statutorily defined commercial boycotts of Israel. There have also been a number of cases in which US border authorities have denied entry to individuals or organizational representatives that have expressly supported BDS or discriminatory rhetoric towards Jewish and Israeli individuals. As such, we have notified relevant authorities in the United States of America of Mr. Juncker’s conduct. Should your organization choose to tie itself to Mr. Juncker’s startup, this would constitute material support and we will therefore notify the same relevant authorities in the United States of America of your organization’s conduct. This may make travel to the United States of America difficult for your organization’s executives, their families, and your donors.

We therefore expect your organization to take immediate action in order to avoid the aforementioned consequences:

1. Immediately bar Mr. Juncker from any in-person Montreal General Hospital Foundation events.

2. Immediately bar Mr. Juncker from the CLIP, your in-house incubator.

3. Immediately publish a notice to all members of the CLIP, donors, and members of the Montreal General Hospital Foundation community that you disavow any form of antisemitic or hateful speech by Mr. Juncker, and that your organization will not pursue any further involvement with this individual.

4. Immediately schedule antisemitism awareness training for all executive members of your organization.

5. Create and publish guidelines for your due diligence process that include social media screening before the impact investment process begins to avoid the possibility of repeating this situation with another candidate company.

Note that we will be watching carefully and should your organization choose to send a boilerplate reply condemning ‘all forms of hate, ect ect’ without taking any further action, we will not hesitate to act, and may consider recruiting additional injured parties into our prospective legal action that may cause your organization to be added as a Defendant if you choose to provide material support to Mr. Juncker and his company.

We have CC”d a number of relevant parties to this email including members of the press in the Montreal and Canadian news cycle, as we believe that it is important that your organization understand the severity of Mr. Juncker’s conduct and its potential impact on your organization should you choose to invest after this information becomes public.
