Dear Editor:

In your June issue, there was an article by Maryam Siddiqi about Winnipeg.

She recommended the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, particularly the "Nakba" exhibit "exploring Palestinians' forced displacement over generations."

There are many historians, including Sir Martin Gilbert, who dispute this.

The Arabs left because their leaders told them to leave and return when the Jews were defeated.

There is currently a huge uproar about this exhibit. The only Jewish board member has resigned.

Of note, there is no mention of the 850,000-900,000 Jews who, at the same time in history, were forcibly expelled from Arab countries.

The writer could have suggested a visit to the Museum without mentioning this contentious and one-sided exhibit.

Please be more balanced in the future.

Sincerely,

Ellen Thompson
