Re: Would Gavin Newsom Deny Arms to Israel? He floats the idea even as our ally is fighting with us against Iran. By The Editorial Board, March 5, 2026, Wall Street Journal

Dear Editor,

The Progressive attitude towards Israel subscribed to by Gavin Newsom is that Israel is too aggressive and while it should be able to defend itself, weapons enabling it to go into foreign countries to put a stop to the attacks on it such as airplanes, tank ordinance, rockets and bombs should be denied. This policy insures that rocket attacks from Israel's enemies will never stop.

There were over 30,000 missiles launched at Israel from Oct. 7, 2023 till today, the equivalent of 900,000 missiles launched at the USA, and one can't possibly imagine Progressives forcing the U.S. to endure these attacks without the ability to fly into the countries from where they were launched and put a top to it , a stop for all time. But what's self preservation for Americans is denied to the Jews of Israel.

Inherent in the Progressive -Newsom policy of assisting Israel to defend itself but stopping it from invading attacking countries is a callous tolerance for dead Israelis. Israel is very efficient at stopping incoming projectiles, but some inevitably get through. On March 1st 2026, an Iranian rocket got through Israel's missile defense and killed 9 Israelis in of all places a synagogue, so praying didn't do them much good, nor it seems will the Democratic Party if Gavin Newsome and the Progressives succeed in putting their thumbs in Israel's eye.
