Dear Councillor Malik:
The Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation is highly concerned about an incident that took place at the 2026 Muslim Association of Canada annual conference on Exhibition Place property earlier this month.
At one of the sessions, the message depicted below was displayed on a digital screen, in a discussion about an ideal state for the community in the future. The words "Jew free" were displayed as one desired characteristic. I am sure you would agree that this incident was both outrageous and an egregious violation of the City of Toronto's anti-discrimination policies.

On May 24, 2026, we wrote to Exhibition Place President Don Boyle to request that this incident be included in the agenda for discussion at the upcoming June 18, 2026 meeting of the Board of Governors of Exhibition Place. We received a reply that ignored this request. We are writing to you to formally repeat that request, so that Toronto's Jewish community may be given an opportunity to directly address this incident. This incident has been deeply hurtful and infuriating to many members of the community, especially given the numerous antisemitic incidents which have plagued Toronto over the past three years.
Will you allow Toronto's Jewish community to speak to the issue at the June 18 Board meeting, or will you attempt to silence us?
Best regards,
R. Michael Teper
President
