Letter from Richard Sherman to the Editor, Columbia Spectator challenging the student body to answer the question: Why no encampments, demonstrations, protests against Iranian regime?

Dear Letter to the Editor:

"Iran Protest Death Toll Could Top 30,000 According to Local Health Officials", Time Magazine, Kay Armin Senjoie, Roxana Saberi and Fatemeh Jamalpour, 1/25/26;

" Over 36,500 Killed in Iran's Deadliest Massacre, Documents Reveal", Iran International Editorial Board, 1/25/26;

"Iran May Have Slaughtered 30,000 Protesters in 48 Hour Intense Crackdown - Report", Jerusalem Post, Jacob Laznik, Miriam Sela- Eitam, 1/25/26.

Yet no massive protests at Columbia University. No protests at all .. No encampments. No frenzied professors  and students at Columbia demanding the end of the Iranian state. No hundreds of Columbia students vandalizing buildings, destroying thousands of dollars worth of Columbia property and kidnapping hard working Columbia service workers rather than going to class.

The reason is obvious. These hundreds of Columbia professors and thousands of Columbia students -- try as they might -- cannot blame the Jews for the 30,000 plus slaughter of protesters in Iran. Therefore just like Joseph Goebbels Brown Shirts -- since they cannot blame the Jews -- they have zero interest in the murder of 30,000 Iranians, or 300,000 Iranians or 3,000,000 Iranians!

The deafening silence on the Columbia campus concerning the mass slaughter in Iran leaves no doubt that only jew hatred motivates " protesters " - faculty and students - across the Columbia campus. The antisemitism that is now foundational to the Columbia campus is  identical to the antisemitism that infected German/ Nazi universities from 1933-1945. The deafening silence concerning the mass murders in Iran at Columbia University is the deafening silence of disinterested antisemities waiting for something to blame the Jews for. " Social justice" for Columbia protesters  is the "social justice" of the Nuremberg Laws.
