Dear Letter to the Editor:
Ghada Aboulfattah drones on endlessly about effects -- rubble in Gaza, but in her myopic Zionophobic screed ignores the cause: 6000 Gazan sociopaths ( 3800 Hamas and 2200. Gazan civilian willing executioners) in a surprise genocidal attack on Israel, the 3500 year old indigenous homeland of the Jewish people, murdered, raped, beheaded, eviscerated and disemboweled 1200 Jewish men, women, children, infants and Holocaust survivors, and kidnapped 250 others -- murdering, raping, torturing and starving to death many of them.

Evidence Points to Systemic Use of Rape and Sexual Violence by Hamas in Oct 7 Attacks," Beth McKernan, The Guardian, 1/24/24; "U.N. Team Finds Grounds to Support Reports of Sexual Violence in Hamas Attacks", NY Times, 3/5/24).
(See: "Screams Before Silence", Directed by Anat Stalinsky. Presented by Sheryl Sandberg).
To write about the rubble of Gaza without focusing on the cause, October 7 -- there was no rubble on Oct 6 - is as ludicrous and ahistorical as focusing on the rubble of Tokyo without reporting the cause, Pearl Harbor.
Further the people of Gaza, Ms. Abdulfattah and her friends and neighbors, celebrated October 7:
See "Ordinary Gazans' and Oct 7: Hatred Among the Population and the Massacre", Professor Jeffrey Herbst, former President of Colgate University and Chairman of the Department of Politics at Princeton University, New York Daily News, 11/14/23)....
Ms. Abdulfattah's Zionophobic exercise in AVOIDING the cause of the rubble may be wonderful virtue signaling for the Guido Enderis style editors at The Times, but it is ahistorical myopia.
