Letter from Ruth Abrams, Toronto, to CBC on Alkhatib's Essay on the Truth About Gaza

“THE TRUTH ABOUT GAZA AND ITS 2 MILLION HOSTAGES” is an essay by an important Palestinian voice, the Gazan writer, Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib.

Alkhatib is a Middle East political analyst, peace advocate, and resident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council. He holds a master's degree in intelligence studies from American Military University and has written for The Atlantic, The Times of Israel, and The Wall Street Journal.

Excerpts and edited versions of this work, alongside his broader commentary and analyses on Gaza, are also published across several major news outlets and think tanks like The Australian and The Atlantic.

He publishes strategic Middle East analysis and projects through the Atlantic Council (where he is a resident senior fellow) and The Washington Institute. Alkhatib argues that Hamas used the civilian population of Gaza as disposable leverage in a nihilistic strategy, and contends that a permanent end to the suffering requires removing Hamas from power, disarming the enclave, and shifting toward radical pragmatism and coexistence.

It is time for the CBC to feature authorities like Alkhatib to address the story of Gaza.
