Letter from thoughtful Torontonians to CBC Ombusman on biased reporting: WHERE IS THE BALANCE?

Dear Maxime Bertrand,

10 FACTS THE CBC ISN’T REPORTING ABOUT HAMAS––

1. Hamas is a death cult and a recognized terrorist entity.

2. Hamas rejects Israel’s right to exist and calls for the annihilation of all Jews.

3. Hamas promotes the rape and torture of civilians as a form of warfare.

4. Hamas has declared Holy War,  Jihad, on “infidels”––Christians, Jews, and non-Muslims.

5. As a tactic of war, Hamas uses children and civilians as human shields

6. Using hostages as pawns, Hamas rejects all permanent peace initiatives.

7. Hamas has spent billions of aid dollars connecting schools, hospitals and mosques to an underground tunnel city constructed for the sole purpose of launching rockets at Israel.

8. In their own words, Hamas has hand-written the exact instructions,  planning, in detail, for the blood-curdling scenario of October 7, 2023, to initiate war.

9. Hamas’ propaganda machine recruits, radicalizes and financially supports the destruction of the values of Western Society while totally controlling all journalists and life in Gaza.

10. Hamas starves its own people, violently commandeering food aid to Hamas storehouses and the black market.

By completely avoiding these facts in reporting on the Israel/Hamas War, CBC has ironically given Hamas a propaganda platform thereby extending the war’s duration and the suffering of  Gazans.

Please address this crucial issue of balanced and accurate journalism.
