The Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation joins with millions of people around the world in congratulating the leaders of Israel, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and the USA, in forging new and impressive, peaceful and prosperous relations. As Jews begin to celebrate the New Year 5781, we see a new era dawning.
Skeptics said it couldn’t be done, that warm relations with an Arab Muslim country would only come if Israel conceded more to the Palestinian Authority, if the Jews gave up their right to their national homeland, if millions of Arabs were to be “allowed a right of return,” even if they had never lived there. In short, the demand by the PA and their cohort Hamas, was that the Jewish country disappear, and they have actively worked on its destruction.
Until the assumptions changed and the veto held by the PA cancelled, peace was not possible. Now, with bold leadership and new assumptions, that reality has changed. A warm peace with meaningful exchanges and person-to-person encounters is occurring.
Let’s celebrate! Congratulations to the four (4) leaders who made it happen, President Donald J. Trump, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, King Hamid bin Isa Al Khalife of Bahrain and President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE, and look to the future with renewed optimism.
We trust the agreement will not defer for long the extension of Israeli sovereignty over all the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, or the protection of hundreds of ancient Jewish sites and archaeological treasures that are currently at risk due to EU funded illegal activity by the Palestinian Arabs. Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the Jewish people, must remain undivided under Israeli control, and border security remain tight. Hamas is angry at its lost position in the Arab world and joined recently with Hezbollah to strategize on harming Israelis of all faiths.
May this year bring strength and resolve to Israel’s leaders to champion peace, Israeli sovereignty and the pursuit of justice while also challenging the false Palestinian claims.
