Ontario Court Declares "Khazar Theory" False and Hateful

The "Khazar Theory" is the hypothesis that Ashkenazic Jews are not biologically descended from the ancient Israelite tribes, but are instead the direct descendants of a set Turkic tribes that established a khanate called Khazaria in what is currently Ukraine and the Caucasus region between 650-850 CE, and were converted to Judaism at the time. The theory is that as the Khazar empire collapsed, a migration took place into what is now Russia, Poland, the Baltic states etc., and that these migrants are the ancestors of the Ashkenazic population.

This theory, now universally discredited by modern DNA evidence, originated in the 19th century, and was promoted in the 1970s by Hungarian writer Arthur Koestler in his book The Thirteenth Tribe. Koestler's motivation in advancing this theory was to destroy the intellectual foundations of racially based antisemitism by proving that European Jews are not semitic but Turkic/Caucasian.

The Khazar theory was immediately seized upon by anti-Zionists who claimed that the alleged Khazar descent of eastern European Jews proved that they had no anthropologically or ethnically based claim to the land of Israel, and therefore that Jewish claims of indigeneity to the land of Israel were illegitimate.

This is exactly what Razaali Bahadur yelled at Toronto's Jews as they assembled at Nathan Phillips Square on April 7, 2024, to commemorate six months of captivity of the hostages and the 6-month anniversary of the October 7 massacres. According to the trial transcripts, recently obtained by CAEF Bahadur said: "You guys all originated from Khazar. This little area, you have no religion, you're not Judaism, you're not Israeli. Hey, you guys are from Khazar. You guys crawled out of there. Tell them to crawl back in. That is where you belong,"

In her reasons for judgment in R. v Bahadur, Chapin J. of the Ontario Court of Justice accepted the expert testimony of Prof. Jan Grabowski of the University of Ottawa that this theory is debunked and meritless, characterizing it as "the Khazar lie". This portion of Justice Chapin's reasons for judgment is highly significant because it is the first time in Canadian judicial history that a court has directly addressed the "Khazar Theory" and accepted expert evidence of its falsity.

Justice Chapin concluded that in the circumstances of the rally, Bahadur's actions constituted the incitement of hatred against Jews in public place, where such incitement was likely to lead to a breach of the peace, contrary to Section 319(1) of the Criminal Code.

The reasons of Chapin J. therefore stand as res judicata/judicial notice of the falsity of the "Khazar Theory" in potential future criminal and/or professional misconduct proceedings against individuals arguing it for antisemitic purposes. Reasons for Judgment are not descendent of Jews of ancient Israel and, in fact, they are imposters and colonizers with no link to the Middle East and therefore, they have no legitimate right to establish themselves in Israel. The proponents of the Khazar theory posit that today's European Jews are descendants of the Turkic tribe originating from the Caucasus area that converted to Judaism. Recently, a study based on extensive genetic testing proved conclusively that Ashkinazi Jews had no genetic links to the Caucasus area and this helped to debunk the Khazar theory and put it to rest.

CAEF Calls for Deplatforming of Yves Engler from Venues in Burnaby BC, Sarnia ON and Toronto ON

Municipal officials in Burnaby BC and Sarnia ON disregarded warnings from CAEF that declared NDP candidate Yves Engler has a well-documented history of making antisemitic statements and is therefore unfit to receive the benefit of booking municipally-owned meeting rooms to hold political rallies in support of his candidacy. In October 2025, CAEF was successful in persuading St. Paul's Anglican Church in Toronto to deny him the use of their meeting hall on those grounds.

Engler's application to become an official candidate for the New Democratic Party of Canada leadership is currently before the party's vetting committee. CAEF has written to the NDP's chief electoral officer with an extensive brief of Engler's antisemitic comments, and hopes that the NDP will act swiftly to deny Engler status as a leadership candidate.

CAEF has filed a freedom of information request with the City of Burnaby and will be filing one with the City of Sarnia to investigate the processes by which Engler's applications to use these meeting spaces were approved.

CAEF wants to acknowledge and thank Sarnia Councillor Bill Dennis for his immediate and passionate denunciation of the Sarnia's accommodation of Engler on its property.

CAEF Calls for Strict Enforcement of City of Toronto Anti-Hate Policies at Palestinian Flag Raising Ceremony

The City of Toronto is slated to hold a ceremony on Monday September 17 for the raising of the Palestinian Flag. CAEF joins B'nai Brith in stating that this ceremony sanitizes and launders the terrorism committed by the Palestinian Liberation Organization against Israeli civilians over decades, and makes Toronto City Hall a place of partisanship, divisiveness and discord rather than civic unity and peace. We commend Councillor Pasternak's courageous opposition to this event. We also acknowledge and commend TAFSIK's bold move to seek an emergency injunction against the rally before the Superior Court of Justice.

We at CAEF are not naive. We know that this ceremony is likely to go ahead, despite our objections, and those of B'nai Brith, TAFSIK and other advocacy organizations representing the Jewish community in Canada. Our immediate concern is that this ceremony not degenerate into a City-sponsored hate rally. Therefore, we have written to the City's Chief of Protocol, with a copy to the Mayor and each member of City Council. If this ceremony becomes a City-sponsored festival of hate against Jews and/or Israeli-Canadians, they can't say they didn't know.

Freedom Force Protest of Mayor Chow’s Inversion of Reality

On Wednesday, November 12, several hundred Jews and allies gathered outside Toronto City Hall with a message for Mayor Olivia Chow that claiming there is a genocide in Gaza is spreading lies and bigotry, endangering the Jewish community of Toronto, giving voice to terrorism and dividing the communities of this great city.

Organizers spoke and presented a petition for attendees to sign, addressed to the Mayor, demanding a public apology and correction to the statement she made at an event in Brampton, organized by NCCM, the National Council of Canadian Muslims, formerly CAIR Canada, entitled from Selma to Gaza. The event was clearly partisan and anti-Israel. Speakers included the organizer, Avi Attali, VP of CAEF and founder of OneGlobalVoice.

About 50 individuals then entered the Council Chamber and were greeted by Councillor Dianne Saxe, who graciously asked the Clerk to allow her to introduce the group and bring the petition forward. We thank Councillor Saxe for her actions and support.

BBC Bias Revealed, CBC Similarly Biased

CBC provides a very one-sided biased view about Israel almost daily. This has been documented in detail by Honest Reporting Canada which called for an inquiry into the bias but with no results. It is time to hold CBC accountable. The BBC has been as bad or worse, and a report done years ago verified its bias against Israel. Recently the Director General resigned over proven bias and distortion. Many news outlets are also guilty of spreading disinformation and journalists becoming activist not objective reporters. Monitor this and report any findings to Honest Reporting here.

Below is the transcript. There are 5 sections:

1. The reversal begins. In this new system the native becomes the intruder, the majority becomes the villain and the truth becomes hate speech. The very people whose ancestors build these nations, who raised the families, tilled the land and paid taxes, now find themselves apologizing for simply existing. How did this happen?

2. Psychological engineering and guilt programming. It began with psychological engineering. First, inject guilt programming - a constant stream of reminders about colonialism, slavery, privilege and oppression. Then flood the language with weaponized labels. Racist, transphobe, Islamophobic, far right. Each designed to shut down conversation, to train you to self censor and to submit. This isn't about justice. It is about control through confusion.

3. The two-tier system of "compassion". Look around and you will see it. As a matter of fact, I think you know it already. Certain groups can gather publicly in the name of religion or pride - others are fined, silenced or arrested for praying silently. Crimes by one group are explained away as trauma, misunderstanding, or cultural norms. Same crime committed by someone else instant outrage, national headlines and cancellation. We have moved from equal rights to engineered imbalance, from justice for all to justice selectively applied.

4. Institutional capture. Every major institution in the western world has been taken over by the same ideological virus. Schools no longer teach pride in culture, but shame history. Police now investigate feelings, not felonies. The media filters truth through an ideological lens where facts are problematic and narratives are sacred. Even churches and temples now bow down to slogans instead of scripture. This is called institutional capture and it is not accidental.

5. Divide, demoralize and replace - but why? Because a divided guilt rhythm and morally paralyzed society is easier to govern, it is easier to shatter its traditions, drown it in imported ideologies and define its language and turn its people against themselves. This is what I keep trying to say. These are the true cracks to the Matrix. The end goal? Not justice, not harmony, but a population too confused to resist and too fragmented to unite. But let's be clear, this isn't a war between races or religions or genders. It's a war between truth and programming. Between those who remember who they are and those who've been re-thought to forget. You don't need to hate anyone, but you do need to see, because the longer we stay silent, the more the inversion Matrix tightens. Until what was once solid - identity, family, faith, law - becomes liquid, then meaningless, then gone.

This isn't about hate - I repeat. This is about survival and if you are still listening, it means the program didn't fully work on you. Not yet.
