Antisemitism—Media, Academia, Outlandia | CAEF Bulletin, March 11, 2022

Israel isn’t a Fantasy

“Outlandia is a fantasy open-world adventure” states the gaming site Steam, and it is the name of a real place retreat for creative people, according to a marketing site for the place, but today I use the word to describe the outlandish, fetishist, fantastical outliers who blame Israel for everything and fantasize her demise. Screw them!!

Israel is here to stay. Jews are here to stay and Jewish rights must and will be recognized despite the Jew haters and their malicious intent.

One of the best friends of Israel who speaks truth to power, is the Imam of Peace whom we should also call the Imam of Truth, Imam Mohamed Tawhidi, the new Vice-President of the Global Imam Council.

Outlandish Media

The media are a major contributor to antisemitism and one of the best webinars recently presented on this subject was delivered by Batya Ungar-Sargon on February 16th, 2022 , in a dialogue with Rebecca Roiphe, a law professor and board member with the Jewish Institute for Liberal Values, which presented the program.

Ungar-Sargon is a genius, an outspoken liberal who has analyzed the situation very well, abandoned all the memes, labels, madness and blaming that has emanated from the Left against their opposition. She notes that the left is guilty of racism, classism, societal divides, cancelling, undermining, denying truth and mastering the bipolar rhetoric that conservatism is the great problem in American society today.

Her 2021 book, Bad News: How Woke Media Is Undermining Democracy, well describes how Journalism moved from being a blue-collar trade to that of the liberal elite and in so-doing favours the left, the rich, and themselves. More importantly, it undermines, according to Ungar-Sargon, the truth and has created “the moral panic around race,” which “does little more than consolidate the power of liberal elites and protect their economic interests.”

Batya Ungar-Sargon is the deputy opinion editor of Newsweek. Before that, she was the opinion editor of the Forward, the largest Jewish media outlet in America. She has written for the New York Times, the Washington Post, Foreign Policy,Newsweek, the New York Review of Books Daily, and other publications.

A Canadian journalist speaks about the bias and self-cancelling at the Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC): Here are excerpts from Tara Henley’s resignation story: “To work at the CBC in the current climate is to embrace cognitive dissonance and to abandon journalistic integrity.”

“It is to sign on, enthusiastically, to a radical political agenda that originated on Ivy League campuses in the United States and spread through American social media…”

HonestReporting US published an article based on its research that confirms: ..” not only are Jews the highest targeted group for hate crimes per capita in the United States, but they are among the least reported in terms of hate crimes,” stated Daniel Pomerantz, CEO of HonestReporting.

Charities that Lie Need be Cancelled

While it is assumed that organizations that qualify for charitable status do charity work ie address poverty and social ills, while also meeting all the criterion for charitable status which allows them to receipt donations, the fact is many do nothing short of promoting hatred, bigotry, subterfuge, lies and even terror.

B’nai Brith Canada has taken a significant major step in confronting this. CAEF urges ALL Canadians to support this initiative. Sign the petition calling on the Government of Canada to investigate and stop the funding of NGOs that promote antisemitism.

UK Lawyers for Israel is investigating the funding of the recent Amnesty International report that has garnered much dispute and recrimination for its unjustified attack on Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East. Israel is the constant recipient of terrorism, and yet is the focus of denigration, demonization and criticism from disreputable NGOs such as Amnesty International, once a very strong human rights organization, that has became engulphed by its antisemitic leadership and swallowed whole a very woke agenda.

CAEF acknowledges and thanks UKLFI for its leadership in seeking the truth—who funds Amnesty International? How does its complex organizational web of charities and non-charities hide or protect it from true accountability and transparency?

Academia Feuding

That some supposedly learned individuals disavow facts, choose to spread lies, and negate both history and reality, is mind-bending and brain-numbing. But that is the case when recently a group of misinformed “academics” at theUniversity of Toronto, signed a letter to the Temerty Faculty of Medicine (TFOM) condemning it for hosting a lecture by the esteemed, Honorable Irwin Cotler, former Minister of Justice and Attorney General, professor of Law, and Canada’s Special Envoy on Combatting Antisemitism and Preserving Holocaust Remembrance. The misinformed were subsequently supplanted by a letter from 300 faculty to the TFOM that spelled out the truth and took exception to the attack on Mr. Cotler, who in his speech of February 26th pointed out the inadequacy of the Working Group on Antisemitism’sreport to the University administration. Cotler called for adoption of IHRA and countered the much regurgitated and inaccurate portrayal of IHRA as limiting free speech.

Clearly the practice of denigrating Israel, constantly spreading lies, and applying a double standard to all Israeli policies and actions, is indeed antisemitism. For those who wallow in their empty support of human rights for the Palestinian Arab people, but do nothing overall about the actual mistreatment of the Arabs by their genocidal, corrupt leadership, their cause is to deliberately invoke hatred of Israel by eschewing facts on the ground and rewriting history. The best defense for their antisemitism is to defame Israel, portray Jews as the source of unresolved conflict, and push for the eradication of what their woke ignorance claims is the “colonial” Jewish state. How dumb. How perverse. How inhumane. Better they should call for all non-Indigenous Canadians to leave Canada, and then they too can take an early flight back to wherever they came from.

Kudos to Doctors Against Racism and Antisemsitism (DARA) which acted swiftly and gathered 300 Jewish faculty signatures, then sent an open letter to the Acting Dean of TFOM, pointing out the bias and misrepresentation of their colleagues and their inane claims about IHRA and Cotler.

CAEF is NOT Celebrating a Victory at U of T

Though we recognize that after several years of battle, Chaim Katz, a former grad student has successfully kept the issue of BDS support at the Graduate Student Union on the front burner among all the antisemitic actions that have been identified at the U of T, the recent announcement by U of T Vice-President and Provost Cheryl Regehr, that the university will be withholding $10,918 in student fees from the GSU, does not address the BDS Jew hatred that is present within the GSU. The amount to be withheld is pittance, and assumed to be the amount that would have been allocated to the BDS caucus, but it is very little and unlikely to change the thinking or actions of the GSU.

The university’s Working Group on Antisemitism did not outright condemn the GSU for supporting BDS, did not recommend the university adopt IHRA which would have made transparent that BDS is Jew hatred, and thus the administration’s actions of withholding a paltry sum from the annual budget of this racist, Jew hating student body, will likely be circumvented.

Were the actions of the GSU targeted at any other ethnic or racial community, it is likely the entire budget would be cancelled, the leaders would be investigated, and their term at the university brought into question. Surely, we can expect the GSU will find creative ways to continue to fund the antisemitic/anti-Israel lies and foment more discomfort for Jewish students along with the U of T’s annual hate fest, Israel Apartheid Week.

Shame on U of T for cringing rather than acting. Sincere appreciation to Chaim Katz for his perseverance and courage and to Dr. Stuart Kamenetsky who has been relentless pursuit of justice for Jews at U of T.

Facts and Logic are in Short Supply

Since mainstream media, like CBC, The Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, New York Times and many other brands, favour anti-Israel stories, CAEF urges that you share truth. Follow the postings of FLAME, Facts and Logic About the Middle East which is an American NGO that promotes truth using traditional media. FLAME places ads that strike at the heart of the lies about Israel. This month’s poster is shown below, to be placed in mainstream newspapers, reaching over 10 million people. Share it. Advocacy and Information to Counter Antisemitism

CAEF organized End Jew Hatred Canada, a coalition of individuals and organizations to counter Jew hatred with direct action. In addition we produce the End Jew Hatred Report, sent to every senior member of government federally and provincially/territorially. You can read the reports on our website.

Share the reports, support our effort to educate politicians and stop antisemitism in its tracks.

CAEF has partnered with the Bedein Center for Near East Policy Research, which is recording the facts on the ground in Palestinian Arab towns and villages, Palestinian Authority schools, UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) Schools using PA curriculum, and training camps run by Hamas. These incredible documentaries are now being viewed by members of the Knesset Committee on UNRWA chaired by MK Sharren Haskel.

PLEASE SUPPORT THIS WORK, AND HELP SEND JOURNALISTS AND VIDEOGRAPHERS INTO ARAB COMMUNITIES TO SHOW THE WORLD BREWING JEW HATRED, TRAINING TERRORISTS, AND THE ONGOING ATTEMPT TO ERADICATE THE JEWISH PRESENCE AND PAST.

CAEF update on TDSB, OCT, NEDSB, HDSB

Every day CAEF follows up on outstanding issues of antisemitism and these are frequently related to our Ontario public education system.
