Letter from Gary Gerofsky to the Hamilton Spectator on media bias shaped by CRT, ignoring attacks and kidnappings of Nigerian Christians by Islamist extremists

Dear Editor,
I would like to ask the media the following question:
Why do Nigerian Christian girls not matter and why do some British and European girls not matter?
The answer, in my opinion, is that the media in 2025 are protecting the villains and ignoring the victims for political reasons.
It seems that everyone in MSM is afraid to speak out against rape gangs in Europe and murderous terrorists who abduct and brutalize young girls in Nigeria by the hundreds.
The fear to publish the truth is due to a modern belief and misapplication of Critical Race Theory.
Too many academics and journalists are afraid to break the new CRT rule that certain groups must not be named and, if named, never connected to terrorism or other bad stuff. The CRT-assigned status of some groups gives them a free pass.
We have allowed a certain academic insanity to proliferate which ranks people according to metrics which, as it turns out, discriminate on the basis of color, religion and politics.
So, instead of actually reporting the news and the truth, all is filtered through the lens of CRT academic theory which ranks and decides which groups are worthy of our concern and which ones are not.
Unfortunately, we have allowed this obsession to hobble journalists to avoid accusations of "Islamophobia." It is done to force a wilful ignorant blindness that covers up the violence and terrorism within that very large group.
