Re: Movement 'will not end with the encampments,' pro-Palestinian protester says, Jason Magder, Katelyn Thomas, René Bruemmer, Harry North, Andy Riga, July 10, 2024, Montreal gazette

Dear Editor,
The meaning of the words from the pro-Palestinian protestor, "Movement 'will not end with the encampments" has a chilling significance for Jews. The vast majority of Palestinian support Hamas. None accept the legitimacy of the Jewish state. There is nothing Israel can do, no concession it can offer that will bring the Palestinians to the bargaining table. This is because pro-Hamas Palestinians accept article seven of the Hamas Covenant that states in part, " The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews. When the Jew will hide behind stones and trees, the stones and trees will say, "O Muslims, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." The import of this sentiment into Canada has resulted in civic strife. It is up to all Canadians to reject hatred and encourage peaceful debate.
