CAEF Celebrating Chanukah
Chabad in Metro Toronto lit 50 menorahs across the city. Each was attended by crowds that warmed the streets, the hearts and minds of those around them, Jewish and non-Jewish. Various organizations also held menorah lighting events. CAEF was able to attend a few such events; we thank all the hosts, sponsors and the public for attending.
Last Sunday we attended the lighting of the first candle at Sheppard Plaza, and with heavy hearts we learned of the Bondi Beach massacre. On the 2nd night, we attended the Chanukah celebration at the Israel Consulate for Ontario and Western Canada, which was attended by the Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford. We also attended a Queen’s Park Chanukah celebration. On the third night, we attended the Menorah lighting at Toronto City Hall, sponsored by Councillor James Pasternak, and a candle lighting at Toronto Police Services headquarters. On the fourth night we joined over 100 people at the corner of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue, and were entertained by a fabulous dancer who spun fire-lit hoops and a dancing dreidl. We sang prayers and songs with Rabbi Shmuly Grossbaum, and heard speeches by a sponsor from Rio Can and two MPPs, then enjoyed sufganiot.

CAEF President Michael Teper and Director of Government Relations Sam Goldstein attended the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto to present CAEF's Community Impact Statement in the sentencing hearing of Matthew ALTHORPE, who was found guilty of providing material support to a terrorist organization (Atomwaffen SS).
The Community Impact Statement stressed Althorpe's involvement in recruiting and training people into this neo-Nazi terrorist group as an attack on the fundamental values of Western Civilization, putting the physical safety of Jews and members of many other faiths and ethnic groups at serious risk.
The Crown has requested a sentence of 20 years imprisonment; the defence has requested 14 years with credit for pre-sentence time served. The sentence is expected to be issued in January 2026.

Wojtek PALCZYNSKI continues hateful rants on X to this day, and to our knowledge has not been charged.
All hate crime charges in Canada require the consent of the provincial Attorney General in order to commence.
From another case, here's what the consent document looks like.

Please write to Ontario Attorney General Doug Downey at Attorneygeneral@ontario.ca to demand that consent be granted for the prosecution of Wojtek PALCZYNSKI.

AntiZionism Is Antisemitism
“Antizionism is a hate movement,” according to the newest Jewish NGO that was recently launched to combat today’s version of antisemitism.

Stop Antizionism-another Initiative
Stop Antizionism is a global educational and advocacy initiative committed to moral clarity, democratic resilience, and the defense of free societies. We affirm that antizionism is today’s form of Jew-hatred, and that naming it accurately is essential not only to protecting Jews, but to safeguarding the moral and institutional foundations of democracy. Stop Antizionism is dedicated to naming the era of Jew-hatred - the Antizionist Era.
Antizionism is not simply a debate about Israel. It is a corrosive ideological system that distorts moral language, legitimizes collective blame, and weakens free speech, academic integrity, and democratic norms by disguising Jew-hate as “justice” and coercion as “activism.”
What We Do
Expose antizionism as a modern Jew-hate ideology rooted in Soviet disinformation, Islamist doctrine, and sectors of the radical left
Restore precision and responsibility to public discourse, rejecting grievance politics and oppression hierarchies
Equip schools, universities/colleges, educators, institutions, and leaders with the tools to identify, confront, and dismantle antizionist narratives.
Deliver education that translates rigorous scholarship into real-world learning—from classrooms and campuses to boardrooms
Advance a principled vision grounded in universal human dignity, moral restraint, and the belief that confronting destructive ideas strengthens both the Jewish community and the democratic world we share.
Lead the first Global Declaration affirming that Antizionism is Jew-Hatred, endorsed by thousands worldwide, ending a dangerous era of moral confusion.
Stop Antizionism exists because defending Jews and defending democracy are inseparable. Naming destructive ideas is democratic self-preservation.
See it, Expose it, and Confront it to Restore Moral Clarity!

Advocacy and Action

Sign petition to pressure Netflix not to distribute a Jordanian anti-Semitic blood libel film
The movie the Kingdom of Jordan has submitted to the 2026 Oscars is Farha, a propaganda film depicting Israeli soldiers “massacring” Arabs during the War of Independence. And Netflix will begin streaming it for general consumption this month.
The normalization of blood libels is growing. It leads to violence against Jews. One of the largest streaming networks on Earth must not be allowed to spread genocidal poison of this kind.
Please sign Iron Lion Zion’s petition demanding Netflix not stream this anti-Semitic film here.
APT has dealt with such propaganda before. On May 2, 2018, Newton North High School held a “Middle East Day” at which Ali Abunimah, publisher of the anti-Israel propaganda site Electronic Intifada, screened the 2013 film Ismail, which falsely depicts a Nazi-like “expulsion” of Arabs from “Palestine” in 1948.
We must do what we can to prevent more of the same spreading to the whole world.
