World Symposium Against Antizionism Rouses 600 to Stop Antizionism
Over the course of one day, over 20 experts, advocates, and spokespersons addressed a Toronto audience eager to learn about the latest iteration of antisemitism, and what to do about it. Jew hatred has shape shifted over the centuries but it is essentially the same beast — whatever is ailing society, blame the Jews; whatever is your own failing, blame the Jews; when governments either left or right are not to your pleasing, blame the Jews; whatever is the latest faddish idea that offends, blame the Jews. Hating Israel is a well cultivated disguise for Jew hatred that intends to have Jew Haters pretend that their anger/disgust/hatred… perverse dissatisfaction is about the Jewish state which in their mental aberration can do only evil. Dismissing the enormity of Israeli contributions to the world, and the IDF being the most moral army fighting a 7-front war of aggression, and ignoring history, facts, law and morality, allows Jew haters to see Zionism, and the very existence of a Jewish state, as a moral failure of global proportion.
To Antizionists, Israel's existence is proof of a global failure to end apartheid, genocide, ethnic cleansing, colonialism and racism. It's a failure of the British to stop Jewish immigration to Palestine, while they did their utmost to block their commitments under the Mandate for Palestine. It's a failure on the part of the surrounding Arab armies whose intent was the massacre of Jews, eradication of the nascent State of Israel in ’48. The result of which was the self-inflicted Nakba — the Arabs’ humiliation in being defeated by a rag tag army of Holocaust survivors, local Palestinian Jews, and refugees from North Africa. It is a serious moral defeat of Islam in not fulfilling its jihadist aspirations, its centuries’ long commitment to hold on to any land once occupied by Muslims, and to destroy the Jews as called for in the Quran.
Consider this along with the Mufti of Jerusalem’s partnership with Adolf Hitler during WWII, then the development of the antizionist playbook by the former Soviet Union, the creation of the PLO by KGB-trained Yassar Arafat and Mahmud Abbas, and the rise of political Islam which has infiltrated many Western institutions including universities, media, cultural entities and governments. How extensive is the problem of Antizionism?
Listen to the many speakers when available who addressed this topic, from defining antizionism, to noting how it is embedded in media, education, and addressed in the legal system.
Antizionism is fueled by Islamic doctrine, but no speaker was prepared to address this directly.
Dr. Andrew Bostom prepared a few pages of data from the 2025 ADL survey of European and Middle Eastern countries on the level of antisemitism amidst the population. This was made available at the symposium and is a free download here.

Legal Update
1. Muhammad Anas SIAL
In the April 6, 2026 edition of the Bulletin, we commented on the charge of Public Incitement of Hatred contrary to Section 319(1) of the Criminal Code that was laid in connection with the appearance of Muhammad A. Sial at the NE corner of Bathurst St. and Sheppard Ave. in Toronto. Sial was carrying a placard that depicted the head of a religious Jew attached to a deformed and distended body.

This week, the Toronto Police Service announced that an additional charge of Public Incitement of Hatred against members of an identifiable group (the Jewish Community) was laid against Sial. This second charge requires the consent of the Attorney General of Ontario, which was granted.

CAEF will continue to monitor the case and present updates.
2. Harley MITCHELL
Harley Mitchell of Hamilton ON was found Not Criminally Responsible by reason of mental disorder on charges of Uttering Threats and Public Incitement of Hatred against Jewish people.
CAEF joined various other Jewish advocacy groups in delivering a Community Impact Statement at a hearing of the Ontario Review Board. These are our submissions to the ORB:

Middle East Forum Presented America the Unpredictable: Making Sense of the Middle East in a New Era, May 18–21
The annual MEF conference drew people from diverse experiences and backgrounds into a war game simulation that was eye-opening. This optional part of the program was attended by about 40 people who were given assigned roles, background information, and strategic considerations to factor into the question: Where will Turkiye be on the nuclear spectrum by 2036? The game illustrated how pragmatic considerations overtake principles, how alliances are formed and ended, how like pieces on a chessboard, there are no moves without consequences. Further, the game required one to think short and long term, noting that much in geopolitics is unpredictable. Most notable is that we learned last year’s war game accurately predicted much of what has occurred in the past year.
The conference highlights included keynote addresses by Israeli Ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter and Morgan Ortagus, Deputy Special Presidential Envoy to the Middle East. Ambassador Leiter highlighted the many miraculous achievements of Israel against its many enemies, and the many positive contributions the US under President Trump has made to Israel’s security and peace in the Middle East. At the same time, he acknowledged how Israel is serving the interests of Western civilization and providing security, technology, and intelligence to the US. Ortagus spoke about the direct negotiations between Israel and Lebanon and her experience as part of the Abraham Accords team that secured five peace agreements.
Ambassador Leiter’s office produced a 70-page book entitled Manufacturing a Modern Blood Libel, that confronts many lies about Israel.
Dr. Sebastian Gorka, Deputy Assistant to the President of the US and Senior Director for Counterterrorism, was a featured keynote speaker during the conference who emphasized the considerable steps taken by President Trump to address terrorism, to remove obstacles to peace and free the Iranian people, and to support Israel and ensure its success in the wars against Hamas, Hezbollah and the Iranian theocracy.
The program included 8 panels over 2 days, addressing subjects that included: The Day after Tehran; The War and the Region; Players that You’re Not Watching (Kurds, South Yemen, Armenia and Somaliland); The Threat Next Door (Islamic jihad); Beyond the Muslim Brotherhood (South Asian Islamic extremists); and Inside the Gate (the extent of Islamization and radicalization in US and Canadian mosques and institutions).
Several hundred attendees were treated to the expertise of many MEF researchers and policy writers including Sam Westrop, Dexter Van Zile, Marty Youssefiani, Jim Hanson, Joe Adam George, Alex Selsky, Jonathan Spyer, Ben Baird, Hussein Aboubakr Mansour, Winfield Myers, Eric Navarro, Karys Rhea, Michael Rubin, and Daniel Pipes.
While a distinction between Islamism and Islam is an important premise for MEF’s work, several speakers raised important questions about this distinction given the level of radicalization that is taking place in the US and across the West, as well as in major Islamic majority countries and the infiltration by organizations and individuals who follow the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood or its sister organizations.
