Advocacy and Action
Come Out This Sunday

CAEF Leads Action to Request Toronto Police and Chief Firearms Officer to Revoke Firearms License of Daniela BONAMICO
Daniela BONAMICO puts in regular appearances on the (anti-Israel) east side of Bathurst Street on Sundays. Her social media postings set out her desires of Zionists becoming “worm food” and being guillotined. Last week, she bragged about getting her restricted firearms license renewed.
CAEF believes that BONAMICO’s holding of a firearms license is a major risk to public safety, particularly to the Jewish community. We wrote to the Toronto Police Service about this.
Earlier this week, Toronto Police Service Staff Sgt. Jeffery MacDuff acknowledged CAEF’s concerns, and indicated that he has referred our letter to the Hate Crime Unit and the Firearms Investigation Unit.
Omar ELKHODARY sentenced to 5 months of jail-at-home/Curfew for assault on Vicki Moscoe
On September 3, 2025, after a 22 month long legal odyssey, Omar ELKHODARY was finally convicted sentenced in the Ontario Court of Justice to a 5-month “conditional sentence” involving 7 weeks of jail-at-home, to be followed by progressively more lenient curfews. He also faces a weapons prohibition. In the reasons for sentence, the judge quoted extensively from the Victim Impact Statement submitted by Vicki Moscoe, the victim of the assault, and from Community Impact Statements submitted by CAEF, B’nai Brith Canada, Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre, CIJA, One Global Voice and several individuals. During the sentencing judgment, ELKHODARY repeatedly rolled his head and laughed several times as the judge read out the impact statements, a behavior for which he was called out by the judge.
Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center commented on the case, with which we at CAEF fully agree:

CAEF Leads Call for Canada’s New Democratic Party to Bar Yves Engler from Leadership Candidacy
This week, CAEF President Michael Teper wrote to NDP Chief Electoral Officer Eric Hebert-Daly, requesting that the NDP deny Yves Engler status as a candidate for leadership of the federal party. The letter quoted several virulently antisemitic statements made by Mr. Engler both recently and in the past, as well as recounting that Mr. Engler was expelled from Concordia University for assault and vandalism during a visit of an Israeli government delegation.
CEO Hebert-Daly has acknowledged our letter and assured CAEF that it has been referred to the party’s candidate vetting committee. Therefore, if the NDP accepts Mr. Engler as a candidate, it will be with full knowledge of the facts CAEF has raised.
Read CAEF letter as well as Mr. Herbert-Daly’s acknowledgement. We encourage our readers to share their concerns about Mr. Engler’s candidacy with Mr. Hebert-Daly at ceo.dge@ndp.ca.

CAEF is sharing issues from the recent newsletter from Doctors Against Racism and Antisemitism.

Please fill out the survey of the Ontario College of Psychotherapy about 'colonialism' in their newly proposed ethical standards.
We need you to participate in this survey.
A Palestinian advocacy group, Therapists4Palestine, is mobilizing thousands to participate in a survey being put out by the Ontario college that regulates psychotherapy. The College is ratifying new ethical standards that pertain to equity and discusses colonialization. The pro-Palestinian advocacy group are suggesting that the standards should go further by mentioning "colonialism’s enactment of ethnic cleansing and genocide on Turtle Island and abroad, including but not limited to in the Sudan, Palestine, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Ukraine." Please participate in this quick survey. It is open to everyone.

On the Education Front

Jewish students participating in the Aristotle Foundation study are four times more likely than the average student to be “very reluctant” to speak up and share their views on religion in class discussions. This fear of expressing their viewpoints correlates to a concerning outcome in the study, whereby 15 percent of Jewish students reported experiencing daily abuse on campus for being Jewish, and 84 percent reported experiencing antisemitism at university at least once a year. By contrast, 90 percent of agnostics, 86.6 percent of atheists, and 75.5 percent of students who elected not to disclose their religious affiliation reported never being treated badly or unfairly, as a university student, because of their religious views
Christian Allies Gratefully Acknowledged
CAEF is very pleased to share the published ICEJ statement against recognition of Palestinian statehood. The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem is a 45-year-old organizational friend of Israel and the Jewish people.
“… unilateral recognition of Palestinian statehood at this time fails for multiple reasons: (bold by ed.)
In the wake of the October 7 terror massacres, it would be a reward for Hamas terrorism and a grotesque, insensitive gesture in the face of the worst atrocities committed against the Jewish state and people since the Holocaust.
The Palestinians do not meet the criteria for statehood, as they do not have a sole, unified authority in effective control of the territories they claim. The Palestinian Authority is rife with corruption and has lost its legitimacy in the eyes of most Palestinians, while Hamas is a radical and irredeemable terror militia that should not be granted legitimacy from any quarter. Further, the Palestinian Authority continues to reject Israel’s existence as a Jewish state, as evidenced by its official media outlets and schoolbooks which still openly deny Israel’s rightful place in the region, and indoctrinate future generations towards hatred and violence against Israel, thus revealing their true intentions.
The drive to recognise Palestinian statehood under current circumstances shows profound ignorance of the present division of roles within Palestinian politics. Though still complicit in acts of terror, the Palestinian Authority has largely opted to wage lawfare to delegitimise Israel and secure Palestinian statehood in all the historic Land of Israel, while Hamas has chosen to stay on the path of “armed resistance” – i.e., terrorism and violence. By granting recognition of a Palestinian state amid the prolonged conflict ignited by the October 7 massacres, the international community is telling the Palestinians that terror and violence bring results, thereby bolstering Hamas vis-à-vis the PA and setting back peace efforts perhaps for generations.
Israel has a superior legal and historic right and claim to sovereignty in the disputed territories in relation to the Palestinians, which was duly recognised through binding decisions by the international community at the San Remo Conference of 1920 and in the British Mandate in Palestine adopted by the League of Nations in 1922.
Granting recognition of a Palestinian state without Israel’s consent would not only violate the Oslo Accords of 1993 – to which many of the nations now considering recognition were witnesses – it also would break from decades of binding UN Security Council resolutions built on the sound principle of direct bilateral negotiations. Such a breach would represent a serious betrayal of Israel’s trust, and would sacrifice the sanctity of international agreements on the altar of political expediency.
Such a move would derail peace efforts and destabilise the region by giving the Palestinians false hopes that they can unilaterally achieve statehood outside of direct bilateral talks with Israel.
Those European nations who are supporting this diplomatic initiative are violating the European Union’s customary practice of acting only by consensus on major foreign policy issues, as several EU member states firmly oppose this effort.
Some nations considering this move are doing so for narrow domestic interests, such as France seeking to appease the growing threat of radical Islamist elements within its borders.
This campaign for recognition of a Palestinian state is a feeble and reckless response to the current wave of global antisemitism and will only add more fuel to this societal scourge around the world, which all nations must now confront with courage and not cowardice.
We call on the international community to discard with the current ill-advised diplomatic effort to force Palestinian statehood upon Israel and to focus instead on the immediate need to conclude a ceasefire and hostage release deal that also addresses the future administration of Gaza. Such an agreement must include the safe return of all living and deceased Israeli hostages in Gaza, and the disarming and universal banishment of Hamas.”
International Centre for Human Rights Honours 3 Heroes
On August 27th ICHR held a gala to honour at which they honoured Melissa Lantsman, MP for Thornhill and Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Mohammad Najafri, Iranian dissident jailed in Iran, and Hila Fakliro, a Nova Festival Survivor in Israel. All were recognized for their contributions, outspoken work in human rights.
Dr. Ardeshir Zarezadeh, President of ICHR and Dr. Darya Shirinkam, a board member, welcomed the guests who included several elected members of parliament, representatives from several Jewish organizations such as Tafsik, B’nai Brith Canada, End Jew Hatred and CAEF. It is noteworthy that the Iranian and Jewish communities were again standing together to recognize that fighting for human rights is a common goal.

Revoke the Appointment of Mohamad Fakih to the Order of Canada
CAEF supports the 3 former parliamentarians calling for the cancellation of the Order of Canada from Mohamad Fakih.
CAEF has submitted a letter of its own to the Deputy Secretary of the Canadian Chancellery. Read the full statement.
Read excerpt in National Post, August 29th by Ari David Blaff.
“ The Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation (CAEF) sent a letter on Monday addressed to Brigadier General Marc Theriault, the deputy secretary of honours in the Governor General’s office, requesting Fakih’s Order of Canada be rescinded.
’“In our view, Mr. Fakih’s behaviour constitutes a significant departure from generally-recognized standards of public behaviour which is seen to undermine the credibility, integrity or relevance of the Order, or detracts from the original grounds upon which the appointment was based,” the group wrote.
‘“Members of the Order of Canada are intended to serve as living examples of Canada’s values,” CAEF president Michael Teper told the Post in a written statement. “Mr. Fakih’s statement that millions of Canadian supporters of Israel, including the overwhelming majority of Jewish Canadians, ‘do not have basic human values’ is disgraceful and, in our organization’s view, his continuing membership brings the Order of Canada into disrepute.’”
Sign the petition to the Chief Justice of Canada, requesting the revocation of the appointment of Mohamad Fakih to the Order of Canada.

Tikvah in Canada
Two members of the CAEF Board of Directors attended the September 4th Tikvah event featuring Dr. Ruth Wisse and Dr. Jonathan Silver on the Crisis in Education. Engaging conversation before an audience of over 309 their main message rang true — we must educate our young people as to the miracle of Israel and our long proud history of resilience. Focusing on the Holocaust in education is a mistake as it misses the triumph of the Jewish story. As we learn in the Torah, we must do everything we can to educate our community as to our destiny. In discussing contemporary Jew hatred, Professor Wisse stated that Antisemitism is not a Jewish problem, it is rather a problem for the society that fosters it. So true!

Victims of Jihadism Seek Justice
Jews have an enemy in common with Hindus, Yezidis, Iranians, moderate Muslims, Christians in the Middle East and in Africa—jihadists.
The Islamist terrorists motivated by a fanatical, fundamentalist, radical view of Islam, take a grossly distorted view of the Quran. The world needs a justice movement to counter jihadism. Canadians need wake up to the fact that jihadists are penetrating cultural and political organizations, speaking at mosques and Islamic cultural events, posting on social media, organizing protests and using naïve, mis-educated kids. Whether marginalized or just thinking that standing for human rights and many other “social justice” causes aligns one with anti-Israel dogma, these student protesters are being used, being misled and are fodder for the grievances of the left and the hatred of the Islamists for Western liberal democracy.
CAEF is joining with the African Jewish Alliance to bring people together to combat this radical terrorizing propaganda industry. The AJA notes that “Each week, terror sweeps across Africa, targeting Christians, moderate Muslims, and Black Africans simply for who they are and what they believe.”
“From Nigeria to Sudan, hundreds of thousands endure violence driven by a common ideology: Islamic extremism.”
“At the African Jewish Alliance, we raise awareness of this crisis, working towards a future where Africa can live free from this violence.”
Where are the demonstrations for the 4.7 million in Darfur who rely on humanitarian aid and are the victims of the ongoing genocide by the Islamists? Black Africans are the target.
There are more than 149,000 slaves in Mauritania under the Islamist Arab population.
There are 14 African countries affected by moderate to severe jihadist activity.
Where is the outrage?
Murders of Jews in Europe and America were part of the jihadist mindset, fueled by the Muslim Brotherhood ideology’s fanaticism.

How Many Lies Constitute a Truth?
ZERO!!
What is Anti-Palestinian Racism (APR), but the denial of several thousand years of Jewish history in the Land of Israel, denial of the sovereign state that was under King David, denial of the existence of the Holy Temple on Mount Moriah (Temple Mount) in Jerusalem, denial of the existence of Jews and Judaism for 2000 years before Islam, denial of the historic, legal and moral rights of Jews to the self-determination in their ancient homeland. It also denies the historic fact that Jews were called “Palestinian” for centuries prior to the re-establishment of the State of Israel.
The word “Palestinian” does not describe an ethnic group or culture. It equally applies to the Jews and Arabs living under the Ottomans and then under the British mandate.
Facts: The word was simply “usurped as a fake tool of a fake nationality in order to pressure the State of Israel on humanitarian grounds.
Following are examples of the symbols that stood for Palestine pre-1948.
The Jewish newspaper was called the Palestine Post. After the State of Israel was formed, it would become the Jerusalem Post. The Palestine theatre was a Jewish theatre. The Palestine Symphony Orchestra became the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the flag of Palestine is shown below.

The post office under the British mandate, produced stamps in three languages:

And today’s lies are perpetrated by the mass media, by international NGOs, by the UN and by countless witless and willing anti-Israel social media activists.
Here are two stories about the non-existent starvation being brought about by Israel in Gaza. Just another lie, absorbed by the antisemites who refuse to accept facts, check their stories, or chose to fall prey to hatred.
Another lie perpetrated by the media is the misnaming of a neighborhood in Jerusalem as “East Jerusalem.”
Reader Richard Sherman provided the following:
There is no " East Jerusalem" in the Jewish Bible aka the Old Testament --- only Jerusalem mentioned 659 times. The word Jerusalem appears 0 times in the Koran.
"East Jerusalem" is antisemitic racist nomenclature created by Jordan after it illegally occupied the eastern part of Jerusalem in 1948 in violation of Article 80 of the United Nations Charter.
Jordan then ethnically cleansed the eastern part of Jerusalem of a Jewish population that had lived there for 3000 years, destroyed a dozen synagogues ala Kristallnacht and vandalized hundreds of historic Hebrew cemetery headstones turning them into latrines.
In June 1967 the Jewish people LIBERATED and RECAPTURED the eastern part of Jerusalem -- uniting all of Jerusalem as it had been for 3000 years -- and ending Jordan's brutal illegal antisemitic 19 year occupation.

Here is a magnificent lie by the Palestinian Authority regarding US Ambassador Mike Huckabee’s visit to the Caves of the Patriarchs in Hebron. The PA wildly claimed it is an exclusively Muslim site.
Read the article by Israel365New, August 8, 2025 outlining the absurd claim by Chief Islamic Judge and the Chairman of the Palestinian National Council, that such a visit is a “crime”, an “invasion” and “dangerous provocation”.
“Palestinian” Groups Mobilize to Create Genocide Allegations in Gaza
The entire mobilization and advocacy strategy has been revealed in a study published from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in Nigeria. Read about the study in Israel365News by Adam Eliyahu Berkowtiz, August 31, 2025 and then read the study.
PA Does Not Recognize Israel, Nor Even Jews’ Right to Exist
Palestine Media Watch has been monitoring what the Palestinian Authority actually says, not speculating on its messages or intent. Founder, Itamar Marcus stated,
"A lot of people will recognize that the PA doesn't recognize Israel's right to exist, but the PA goes even further: They don't recognize Jews' right to exist. Antisemitism is so fundamental. We have heard five times in recent months from preachers including PA Shari'ah judges on official PA TV (that is controlled by the PA), the following prayer as part of the official sermons on Friday: ‘Count the Jews one by one, kill them one by one, don't leave even one.' This is part of the PA's genocide message."
Read article by Aharon David and watch Marcus’ interview with Oslo TV in June 2023.
DEI is Fundamentally Flawed
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policies have poisoned the classroom, academia, cultural institutions, media and the political landscape. It is time to take a hard look at how DEI policies arise and are implemented.
Read article published in the Jewish Journal, written by Eran Shayshon and Dor Lasker in February 2025. Below is an excerpt.
“The result (of DEI) is that woke culture today challenges the political and social fabric of the United States and other Western liberal democracies. For example, the DEI content introduced into American educational systems not only fails to promote the pluralistic education it claims to support, but in practice it advances a dogmatic, superficial, and distorted perspective. DEI’s approach alienates young Americans (& Canadians) from their country by portraying the United States (and Canada) as a racist nation born of sin. This viewpoint may help explain the nonchalant reception of American flag burnings by young people on college campuses following Oct. 7.”
